Party Tips & FAQ


Q. My company is hosting a large function and we think we might need several entertainers and face painters....can you help?
A. Let us know if you are expecting a certain number of guests or whether it is a public event, the kind of venue and what other activities are being planned for the day. We can then coordinate a group of entertainers to best meet your needs. If you need several entertainers (including roving performers, stilt walkers, twirlers, jugglers, face painters and balloonologists), we offer discounts for group bookings. We can also help you to source other types of services like jumping castles, pony rides, mobile cafes and musicians.

Q. Can I have a combined birthday party for my son and daughter?
A. Yes, most definitely. We can offer you a male and/or a female host. Pass-the-Parcel are also very experienced in entertaining children of various ages within the one group.
We are happy to theme our parties any way you like. Although we don't list all of our characters and themes, we are able to accommodate most requests, given enough time. If your child wants a specific game or song or really, really loves trains, then we will try our hardest to integrate this into the party.

Q. Does Pass-the-Parcel provide party food?
A. No. Although, we can arrange for a caterer to contact you with a quote.  However, we generally recommend that you keep food quite simple. We find that entertained children do not spend as much time snacking at parties as bored children, so save yourself some time and money!
We recommend you keep food to basics, like sandwiches, fairy bread, cocktail frankfurts and fruit platters.

Q. What is in the fun party parcel? Pass-the-Parcel provide lolly boxes (with 100grams mixed lollies - NO CHOCOLATE) for each child to take home or this can be substituted for a small box of party favours.

Q. How much will the party cost?
A. We do not publish our prices on this site for the simple reason that our prices vary depending on what each person/company requires, where the event will be held, how many children will be at the event, how many entertainers they require etc. Private Parties are generally between $150 and $385.  Feel free to call the office or use the online enquiry form for an exact quote.

Q.When can I have my party?
A. Depending on our availability, you can have your party whenever you like!
You can have a party on any day of the week, including weekends, evenings and public holidays!

The earlier you can book your party, the more likely you are to get your preferred day and time. Aim to book at least 6 weeks in advance. If you are limited in time, give us a call...if we can't help you, we can often refer you to someone who can!


Tips for a fantastic party...

Tips for festivals & larger events...
  • Be prepared. Please decide where you want your performers to setup/perform/rove before they get to the event.
  • Make sure we are placed in a prominent position to get the best value out of our services.
  • Have parking available. To make setting up easier, if possible, please keep a car space free for your performer's vehicle. Please keep in mind that there is often a lot of equipment to unload so a proximal car space would be appreciated.
  • Performers require a 15 minute break if working 4 or more hours. Stilt walkers will perform for 45 minutes on stilts with a 15 minute break between sets.
  • Our face painters follow safe application procedures. We use professional quality hypoallergenic face paint/glitters and keep our work area, applicators and water clean.
  • Our fire performers always play it safe. We bring to each performance, a fire blanket and use safe undamaged equipment. We also provide a "spotter" to stay in charge of safety requirements.                                                           We use only ‘fire water’, a highly refined odourless solvent as performance fuel.                                                      This low-toxicity chemical has a high flash point and has low smoke production.
  • Our unicyclists will always wear a helmet! Because children are watching!
  • Our entertainers have public liability insurance for up to AU$20 million. So in the unlikely event that our performers be responsible for any damage, you are covered.
